Winning the AARP Innovation Labs Grand Challenge

October 24, 2019

Back in July, Agency at CIC hosted an AARP Innovation Labs Challenge, where I was selected to pitch Sunu and how our solutions where helping empower the lives of the aging population. The Innovation Challenge is AARP’s country-wide search for startups and entrepreneurs that are addressing social isolation of seniors – and Boston was one of ten stops across the US. I/Sunu was one of two companies from Boston selected to go to Washington DC for the Grand Final pitch competition. I am excited to announce that we were selected among the top 11 semi-finalists companies. You can read more about the AARP Innovation Labs Grand Pitch here.

The festive vibe of the Grand Pitch Finale in the hip warehouse of D.C.’s Union Dock5 was the culmination of a five-city tour orchestrated by AARP Director of Innovation Programming Jacqueline M. Baker in partnership with local organizers.

“We searched across the country for the best startups that address social isolation of older adults,” said Baker, “and tonight we gave them a rock star stage to showcase their solutions in front of AARP senior executives, members, and influencers.”
